Look Good, Do Good
The Sotokoto Marathon was founded in 2009 by Douglas Wakiihuri, Kenya’s first ever World Marathon champion. So far, the marathon has held seven editions in which more than 15,000 Kenyans and foreign citizens have participated.
‘Sotokoto’ is an African Bantu name for wisdom under a tree. The principle is embodied in the Japanese word ‘Lohas’, meaning lifestyles of health and sustainability. Sotokoto Marathon taps its purpose from this mind set and aims to encourage everyone to make decisions and investments based on social and cultural values that are healthy for themselves and for the environment around them.
